Troubletwisters and gender

From Stephanie Gottschalk in the examiner:

“On a side note, it is also worth mentioning that the book manages to achieve a level of gender-neutrality that is pleasantly surprising coming from two male authors.  Nix and Williams do not make incidental characters male by default, and they neither make Jaide too girly nor overcompensate for her femaleness, nor put her despite her best efforts into the position of damsel in distress. This book says nothing about gender roles because there are no gender roles, which is not only refreshing but also a very good message to be sending to kids.”

I’m really pleased by this. (Depressing that it should be surprising.) She gave it four stars.

I really really really liked this book, apart from the fact that the evil totally creeped me out. It is still one of my favourites. I wish the wiki was more updated, though. And please, please , please speed up the writing process, authors! I’m dying to read the next sequel!
